Joseph Offering
For our Joseph offering on May 6 we will collect sweat shirts and sweat pants for women and children that get help at WEAVE. (WEAVE is the primary provider of crisis intervention services for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault in Sacramento County. It is WEAVE’s mission to bring an end to domestic violence and sexual assault in partnership with our community. WEAVE’s vision is a community free of violence and abuse.) They also need playdough for therapy for the children. Please purchase new sweats for women and for children of all ages as well as some playdough for your offering for this month.
In Genesis 41, Joseph instructs Pharoah to store up items during a season of prosperity so that when a season of famine and drought happened, there would be resources for people. Pharoah thought this was a good idea and listened to his wise council. In light of the tougher economic reality, each month we will take a specific Joseph Offering of items. Each month, we will let you know what those items are and will collect them on the first Sunday of each month.
